Dog Meet-Up Groups

Looking for something social to do with your pet? Dog meet-up groups are the new cat’s meow. I took my pug to an event called “pug-a-palooza” in California where over 20 smushed faced dogs with curly tails ran around snorting and playing. Not only is it a great time for your pet, but you can meet like-minded people who have similar interests. It is a great way to meet new people.

Do you have a favorite breed of dog, or size? There are small dog meet-ups, large dog meetups, puppy meet-ups, and meet-ups for about any specific breed that you can think of depending on location. This is a great way to socialize your dog and teach them how to interact with the outside world of strangers and other dogs.

The largest meet-up recorded was in Huntington beach CA in 2018 with 681 golden retrievers!!! This is not the only record golden retrievers hold. The Guinness book of world records recorded that Augie the golden retriever can hold 5 regulation-sized tennis balls in his mouth at one time, beating all other breeds that competed for the title.

Have you looked through all of the meet-up groups in your area and cannot find one that fits your taste? Start your own group using “meetup.com” for YOUR favorite breed… wiener dog mixed with pit bull (or whatever it may be). This way you can socialize your dog with dogs who will mix well with your pet.

In the meantime, if you want to take it slow and are not ready for all of the action a dog meet-up group has to offer, you can reach out to Denver Pro Pet Sitting for some one-on-one time for your pet with a sitter. Or if you are trying to make your mark in the Guinness book of world records, Denver Pro Pet Sitting can watch your furry friend while you try to break the world record of most continuous bounces on a pogo stick.
